The Daily Feed 🍽

Steak & Garlic Roasted Broccoli

Friday night often = steak night at ours, it's just so quick and easy and feels like a great end of week treat.

This garlic roasted broccoli is very good, and goes perfectly with a steak or chicken. Do try it, it looks and smells amazing when you're preparing it and when it's cooking too!

What you'll need

Enough for however many you're feeding, I cook for 2.

Fresh ingredients

  • Steak
  • Broccoli

Everyday basics

  • Garlic
  • Cheese
  • Lemon

Store cupboard

  • Olive oil
  • Salt & pepper

What to do

1. Divide the broccoli heads into florets and wash. Place in a large mixing bowl. Add a generous glug of olive oil, as much sliced garlic as you dare, some grated lemon zest and parmesan cheese. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Use your hands and give it a good mix. Spread onto a baking tray and cook on the middle shelf for about 20 minutes or until cooked and golden brown (180 fan).

2.  While the broccoli is roasting, cook the steak to your preference and allow to rest.

3. Once everything's ready, plate up and serve with a fresh lemon wedge.

notes & tips

  • 60-62 degrees this is the temperature at which steak is cooked medium rare/ medium. Insert a food thermometer into the thickest part of the meat. When it's between 60-62 degrees, it can come off the heat and left to rest.
  • no garlic? use a tsp or 2 of garlic granules instead. You could also add some chilli flakes too
